AWIN Advertising Network

The purpose of tracking is to associate a publisher's sales and marketing efforts with an accurate user transaction, thus enabling advertisers to compensate publishers on a per-transaction basis. Tracking also allows Awin to provide summary reports to publishers and advertisers. The vast majority of these reports contain only cumulative statistical data.

AWIN Adverstising Network is an online service that displays advertisements on websites outside of its in-house offerings.
NamePurpose
aw* The cookie name is different for each advertiser, but consists of the letters "aw" followed by an ID representing the advertiser. Set when you click on one of our links. Stores IDs for the referring website, the ad you clicked on, the ad group the ad belongs to, the time you clicked on it, the ID for the type of ad, the ID for the product, and any reference the referring website adds to the click. The validity period varies depending on the advertiser and the referring website, but is usually 30 days.
_bId Sets a browser-specific ID to identify a new click on the same browser. Cookie expires after one year
_D9J Used for performance optimisation to match the request containing the the device attribution to the same edge node. Duration 1 year.
AWSESS Set when you see an ad and is used to make sure we don't show you the same ad over and over again. An ID for the ad you saw.
awpv* The cookie name is different for each advertiser, but consists of the letters "awpv" followed by an identifier representing the advertiser. Set when you see an advertisement. Stores an ID for the website that showed the advertisement and the time you saw the advertisement.
_aw_m_* * is the Awin ID of the advertiser. Stores a reference to a single click to associate a sale between publisher and advertiser website.
_aw_sn_* * is the Awin ID of the advertiser. Used for strictly required rides where the consumer must receive a desired benefit from the measure of the ride (cashback or coupon discount). Stores a reference to a single click to assign a sale between publisher and advertiser website.
